Service in the Community

LSS Meals Congregate Dining Event

On April 28th and May 5th Zion hosted two free LSS meal events for community members. Recognizing Zion’s desire to build community and foster relationships though in-person dining, a host of Zion and LSS volunteers offered space, music, conversation and food for 100 people in our Larson Bistro. We are grateful for the many people who helped make this event possible. We encourage everyone to continue promoting LSS Meals, in-person dining and volunteering. Larson Bistro is a beautiful space, designed for this use! Community members aged 60 and older are invited to participate in LSS Meals. After a simple registration form meals can be reserved 24 hours in advance. LSS Meals programming is designed to be accessible to ALL and relies on volunteers to help make this possible. More information can be found with the LSS site manager at 693-6203.

Meeker Area Food Shelf

Our Litchfield site is currently in need of volunteers on Monday evenings from 5-6pm and Wednesdays anytime from 10am-2pm (for 1-2 hour shifts).   We sort food (canned, boxed and fresh), we restock our shelves and we help those needing our assistance choose food for their families. We have a relaxed atmosphere and children are welcome (as long as they are supervised by an adult). Volunteer every week, every other week, or once a month. To volunteer, please contact Jayme Revermann, 320-693-7661, 118 N. Sibley Ave., Litchfield,

LAMP-Kinship (Litchfield Area Mentorship Program) is looking for caring adult individuals, couples, or families looking to build a friendship with local youth.  You can help to build a better community simply by spending time with a local child and building a long-lasting friendship.  Contact LAMP for more information by calling 320-699-1616 or emailing to info@lampkinship.org for more details on how you can become a mentor.

Service through Zion

Zion has several ministry teams.  If interested, please contact the church office!

Faith formation:  Nurtures the lifelong formation of faith/spiritual development of both the congregation and community.  Faith Formation is a transformation process and the context within which we live our lives.  We live, share and grow our faith with our family and our community.  Our goal is to provide opportunities to strengthen these bonds of faith, through Jesus, engaging the young and old.

Mission Outreach:

Social Concerns:  Seeks to meet the needs of individuals, families and groups within our church and community.  Our team focuses on meeting basic human needs.  Projects include: Breakfast Bags, Turkey Dinners, Christmas Giving Tree, Food Shelf support and our new launch, The Helping Hands board.   All in the name of Christ!

Evangelism:

Child Care:

Properties:  Works throughout the year on tasks that involve the overall appearance and functions of the church building and properties.  We coordinate with staff on the cleaning and daily maintenance of the church building.  We work on general use guidelines for the church properties.  We make sure the church is protected against loss or damage from whatever comes about.  Property team members are involved in some of the projects around the church were our skills allow us.  Other larger projects are hired out but still supervised by team members.

Lay Ministry:  Prays for and encourages the pastors and other spiritual leaders.  Organizes and engages volunteers to assist in the service and ministry of the church.
