Volunteer Opportunities at LSS Meals in Litchfield

LSS Meals is a community-wide outreach and relies on help from many volunteers. All community members are invited to participate. The following are some opportunities where volunteers are needed to help produce the meals made at Zion.

Back of House (Kitchen area) 2-3 hours between 8:00 a.m. – Noon

 Portion food, condiments, salads, fruit, desserts, bread

 Help with meal preparation

 Assist with packaging of Home Delivered Meals (HDM)

 Wash counter tops, sinks and other work areas

 Sweep floor following meal service

 Bake desserts

Home Delivered Meals (HDM) 11:00 a.m. – Noon

 Pick up meals at the kitchen and drive a route delivering meals to diners unable to pick

up their meals at Zion. Meals are packed in insulated bags for transport.

Curbside Meal Delivery 11:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

 Gather meals in the kitchen move cart to east Portico entrance of building

 Greet diners and deliver meals to passenger window of their vehicle

 Record who received meals

Front of House – Larson Bistro (dining room) 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

 Wash and sanitize tables prior to meal service

 Set out condiments and make coffee in hospitality kitchen

 Welcome diners and assist as needed finding seats, carrying trays, serving

 Clear, wash and sanitize tables and chairs after meal service
